Canadian Companies Gathered to Showcase Excellence

The annual China Business Impact Awards ceremony was held on March 28th at the Hyatt Regency Shanghai Global Gateway. The event was supported by the Consulate General of Canada in Shanghai and cooperated by the British Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. The ceremony brought together numerous Canadian companies in Shanghai region, including the Canadian well-known Tim Hortons.

Tim Hortons won the first place in Regional Partner Excellence Award, which has over 900 stores in China. Last year, in order to further improve the brand’s growth strategy, Tim Hortons launched a partner program, rapidly opening up franchises and proving their business model in China is a success. WPIC


Marketing+Technologies was the other company in the finalist. altPlus is honored to be awarded the second place in Regional Partner Excellence Award after Tim Hortons, and will learn from and cooperate with other outstanding Canadian companies in China market.

During the panel discussion for the Regional Partnership Excellence Award, Eric Rupert, CEO of altPlus, a finalist, shared his experience in strategic partnerships, regional investment, and local economic promotion. Albert Li, CFO of Tim Hortons China and Liam Mather, Director of Corporate Affairs of WPIC attended the panel discussion as well.

When discussing how companies engage and involve local communities, Eric stated, 'altPlus has continued to work on its core industries by building partnerships with government and community organizations.' By achieving sustainable industrial development in the bamboo industry, we create social benefits for farmers and low-income areas. We also collaborate with local universities, scientific research institutes, and other organizations to participate in the development of industry norms as a founding and active member for market guidance and education.’ During the discussion session, the host asked questions and business leaders exchanged ideas. The companies and guests appreciated altPlus' experience and contribution in regional cooperati.

altPlus Promotes Regional Development with New Materials

With development and promotion of "Bamboo as a Substitute for Plastic Initiative",  altPlus uses bamboo as raw material to develop engineered bamboo, bamboo fiber and other materials and products. With China's abundant bamboo resources, altPlus regards sustainable development as the goal and continues to help the development of regional economy.


After three-month nomination, the winners were announced at the award ceremony on 28th March after being reviewed by the jury and review committee. As one of the most influential business chambers in China, the CanCham Shanghai has attracted a large number of companies to participate in the awards due to its excellent business connectivity.

With its in-depth strategic cooperation layout and efficient localization services, altPlus stood out from the competitors and won the praise and admiration of the jury.
