Eric Rupert Re-elected to CanCham Board with a Vision for Sustainable Growth

altPlus is pleased to share that our CEO, Eric Rupert, has been re-elected to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (CanCham) for the 2025-2027 term. The re-election occurred during CanCham’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on March 25 at the Hilton Shanghai City Centre, recognizing Eric’s dedication to strengthening the Canadian business community in China through collaboration and sustainable growth.

Founded in 1996, CanCham connects Canadian and Chinese businesses, with its Board of Directors representing a mix of multinational corporations, SMEs, and entrepreneurs. The 2025 AGM included a review of 2024 operations and the election of the new Board, setting the stage for leadership that reflects the diversity and dynamism of Canadian interests in the region.

The CanCham election is highlighted by a period of geopolical shifts which may see a period of changing global opportunities. For Erics' part, he focuse on altPlus’s commitment to the local business environment and the vibrant CanCham community. With 14 years of experience in China’s business landscape, he emphasized the importance of collective effort in his speech, stating, “Having a community to collaborate with is paramount.” For his second term, Eric aims to scale impact by sharing insights to support CanCham’s diverse membership, from startups to established firms.
A key focus of his vision is inclusivity to being and operating local. He noted, “We have an opportunity to use that which positively connects us to the market and community here,” underscoring how diverse skils, expertise and backgrounds are available here to drive innovation and growth—an ethos shared by both CanCham and altPlus.
