Do you recognize these safety symbols on the packaging?

In our daily lives, there are a series of small symbols printed on daily necessities, which silently tell us important information about the material, recyclability and even food safety.

This article will take you on a comprehensive exploration of the meaning behind these symbols and reveal how they guide us to make environmentally friendly, healthy and sustainable choices.

altPlus Fiber® products cover a variety of daily life products such as pulp molding packaging, single-use tableware, degradable bamboo fiber bags, etc. The following are some of the frequently used symbols on our products, which make it easy for you to determine whether the selected product meets your own needs for use.
Certification and Recycling Symbols

In order to sustainably manage and recycle products throughout the entire process, material certification and recycling labels on products provide a good indication of the origin and material properties of the product, as well as guidance and advice on recycling.

FSC Certified

FSC-certified forest land is sustainably managed and sustainably harvested. Companies can apply for chain-of-custody certification to prove that their forest products are harvested from FSC-certified forests. This approach not only ensures that the FSC-certified packaging used comes from forests that meet strict environmental, social and economic standards, but also allows companies to demonstrate their commitment to responsible forest management and sustainable development.

There are three main labels:

FSC 100% Label: These products are made of 100% virgin material from FSC-certified forests.

FSC Mix Label: These products are a mixture of FSC virgin fiber and/or recycled materials with Controlled virgin fiber. The recycling symbol in the top left corner indicates the amount of pre- and post-consumer recycled fiber.

FSC Recycled Label: These products are made from 100% recycled fiber. The recycling symbol in the top left corner indicates the amount of pre- and post-consumer recycled fiber.

Recycle

The symbol indicates that the product is theoretically recyclable. If there is a percentage in the middle of the symbol, then it indicates the percentage of recyclable material.

Plastic Recycling

The Plastic Recycling illustrates that after a product is discarded, it is allowed to be recycled, and after certain treatment, it can be reprocessed and utilized as a plastic product.

The internal numbers from 1-7 clearly illustrate the material of the plastic so that everyone can recycle as needed.

Tidy Man

This symbol reminds you that you should dispose of your garbage properly after use in the rubbish bin.

Green Dot

When you see the Green Dot logo on the packaging, it means that the packaging has been authorized by Pro-E or DSD and complies with the requirements of the European Packaging Directive. By paying the appropriate packaging recycling fee, manufacturers and retailers can entrust regional companies in the Pro-E network to be responsible for the recycling of packaging, thus reducing their own recycling burden.

Protecting and Handling Symbols

Package protection and handeling symbols are necessary for any product that is susceptible to damage during transportation. These symbols reflect product characteristics without revealing the contents in it. Identifying the symbols on packaing is critical to protecting them.

Fragile

Fragile items are those products that are prone to breaking or shattering due to accidental shocks or bumps.

Example: glass and porcelain

Handle with Care

Handle with Care provides slightly different instructions from Fragile. These products will not break or shatter easily, but can be damaged if not handled properly. Therefore, packages with this symbol should not be stacked and should be handled gently.

Example: cell phones, TVs, laptops

Temperature-Sensitive

Temperature-Sensitive on the package indicates the permissible temperature range for storage and transportation of the package. This symbol is important for long-distance and international transportation.

Example: food and liquids

Lift Using a Trolley

This symbol is used for heavy products that are difficult to carry by hand. For such packages, it is strongly recommended to use a means of transportation such as a cart.
