Pulp molded packaging is made from a variety of fully recyclable and degradable plant fibers (sugarcane bagasse, bamboo, wheat straw) with concentration, vacuum absorption molding and in-mold dying processes.

In the global, the molded pulp packaging industry is projected to grow from USD 4.9 Billion in 2023 to USD 7.0 Billion by 2032, expecting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.50% during the forecast period (2023 - 2032). The rising demand for environmentally safe and sustainable packaging solutions as well as rising demand from application industries like electronics, healthcare, and food service, are the key market drivers enhancing the market growth.

Advantages of Pulp Molded Packaging and Bamboo Fiber

● Recyclable and degradable

Degradation conditions for pulp molding are relatively simple and can be recycled again and used in different industries. Due to more restrictions on plastic use in EU and other markets, pulp molding is more competitive than traditional plastic packaging.

● Low cost and taxes

Paper products and pulp molding are cheap, their cost of replacing traditional plastics is low. At this stage, the domestic production technology is gradually improving, the cost of pulp molded packaging has stabilized, for example the cost of paper tray products has been almost the same as that of plastic foam.

In the future, more taxes and fees will be incurred for products whose raw materials are non-degradable materials. For example, in 2021, the European Union announced that it will begin to impose a plastic packaging tax. The basic tax rate for non-recyclable plastic packaging waste is 800 euros per ton.

● High Performance

Pulp molding is suitable for making products with good strength and three-dimensional shape, such as tableware and containers, packaging lining trays, etc.; it is suitable for tableware and industrial packaging where the replacement process is fast.

Pulp molded packaging is a safer option than the widely used aluminum packaging and plastic packaging in the food industry. After adding other additives, it has excellent moisture-proof and oil-proof properties and can completely replace foaming materials.

● Advantages of Bamboo Fiber

Bamboo fiber is medium-long fiber, its performance is between softwood pulp and hardwood pulp, and it has strong toughness. Because of the hollow structure and high cellulose content of bamboo fiber, bamboo pulp has higher stiffness and hardness, has good shock-proof and anti-pressure properties, and is a good cushioning packaging material. When producing products with complex shapes, small draft angles and arc angles, a certain proportion of bamboo pulp needs to be added.
